According to several NBA sources with knowledge of the situation, Iverson has been troubled by excessive drinking. If true, that’s a major issue, and something that everyone should hope he can take care of soon. With his basketball career likely over, it’s clear that Iverson needs to take care of his personal life, and we all wish him luck.In terms of his legacy, though, the most interesting part of the article comes from Iverson’s former coach Larry Brown: "This is going to be another situation where something difficult that has happened in his life takes away from all of his accomplishments and everything he stood for," said Charlotte Bobcats coach Larry Brown, who coached Iverson with the Sixers. "That, to me, is the saddest thing of all."
