Kyle Shanahan may leave to work with his father

Texans coach Gary Kubiak said he wanted offensive coordinator Kyle Shanahan to leave if his father Mike Shanahan serves the Redskins as coach.

Kubiak has worked for the elder Shanahan for many years in Denver. But Jim Zorn was just dismissed hours before. “That’s part of the business and with Kyle, and nothing’s official yet, but obviously it looks like Mike’s coming right back in the business here real quick and I know it’s something he’s always wanted, to work with his son,” Kubiak said. “I’d be the same way.” The young Shanahan said it's too marvellous to work with his father and if the eld Shanahan comes back, he thinks the timing will be right. Kyle has worked with Kubiak since he was in Houston in 2006 after following Mike Shanahan for years as an offensive coordinator.

Quarterback Matt Schaub with No.8 texans jersey who was guided by Kyle Shanahan and developed into a prolific passer was upset by the coach's leaving.
